As of October 16th 2009, the Henna Muse Shop will be closed. We will still offer henna and body arts services, but we can no afford to offer our products at the same prices. Rather than raise rates or decrease the level of customer service we would rather just close the shop. While supplies last after the first of November, there will be a small selection of our signature products including Muse Magic, Muse essential oil blends, mica, adhesive, and our pregnancy recipe paste. When they're gone, they're gone.
I have really enjoyed running this store over the last four years. I love chatting with customers, helping people trouble shoot their mix and so on. It saddens me deeply to have to close the store, but unfortunately the modern economy doesn't reward businesses that put customer care and fair prices at the highest priority. Instead profit margins and sheer size are rewarded. Henna was once a small niche that was an exception to that rule, but as it has become a more mainstream medium it has been swallowed by competitors with the typical business model. I am not willing to compromise my priorities to keep up with these competitors. For customers local to Fort Wayne, I am still happy to supply products I use my self for pick up by appointment, but will no longer carry kits, applicator bottles and other items I don't use. Just give me a call to find out what if I have what you need! There are a few henna and body art suppliers that seem to be keeping pace with this stress that I am happy to recommend to my loyal customers with confidence. Magical Mehndi Recommended for anyone in the western half of the country, or any one shopping for bridal and traditional design books. The owner, Justine, also offers a high quality Rajasthani henna powder, Jamila, glitters, gems, and her famous Rani oil blend. Henna Me Recommended for those in the eastern half of the country, Kristina of HennaMe.net has Jamila, henna kits, applicators and oils. She also has lovely bindis, purses and jewelry. Mehandi.com (aka The Henna Page) Mehandi.com is the premier source for natural hair care, and herbal, natural hair color. They are also one of the few suppliers that offer handmade, natural, pre-mixed henna paste for body art. While they are a larger company than the two above, I stand by their regard for personalized customer care and supreme quality of products. Amerikan Body Art Amerikan Body Art is the best source for glitter tattoo supplies and their exclusive Liquid Bling glitter gel.
Henna Sooq A great source for Canadian henna artists! Henna Sooq is also one of the few henna suppliers with a strong focus on natural hair care.
Henna by Heather An upstart as a henna supplier, Heather has a decade's worth of henna experience. Located in New England, Heather offers henna, glitter, and even bangles and bindis!
I hope my loyal customers will understand my position and look into the suppliers I've recommended. I'd also like to note that I am always happy to talk shop and chat with other henna artists. Feel free to email me or give me a call!
