  • A new baby belly!

This is Rachel, or her baby bump anyway. She liked the idea of a fish trapped in a bowl. She mentioned koi, and showed me some paisleys she liked, and I went from there. This particular koi has the part human look of Panyo. Not really my intent… but I think it works.

One of the limitations of being your own henna artist is that you can’t reach everywhere on your own skin! My friend Deborah Brommer in Columbus gave me this hot henna.

  • The END of the Library Season!

Visiting young adult groups at libraries is one of my favorite parts of my job, and its actually what drew me to henna in the first place, way back 10 years ago when I was responsible for children’s programming at my home town library. No matter how much I love these visits, they sure can wear me out! After 32 of them this summer, I’m ready for a little break.

Here are a few of the more interesting things I did at libraries this summer.

  • Hanna’s Henna

I had a great visit with Hanna while doing this little doodle for her, copied from her phone skin!

  • My entry for a design contest…

This is the very simple design I did for a contents in a henna artist’s group. Here’s the contest:

    Here’s my design:

  • Birthday Mehndi

This young lady had me come out a few days before her big sweet 16 bash so her mehndi would look perfect for the occasion.

She really wanted some sparkly mehndi. That silver will stay with her for several days, but not quite as long as the traditional mehndi.

  • Nayan’s Wedding Mehndi

Nayan was such a smart, sweet, soft spoken woman, and her mom fed me a lovely dinner!

  • Erika’s belly

Pics from my baby belly appointment last night. Design from LullaBee – Tammi Glanzer-Boudreau.

I used Rajasthani henna from Magical Mehndi cut with Purity from Mehandi.com.

Accents are done with gold glittermark also available at Mehandi.com
